Communications Intern

Communications:  10-week paid summer internship

The Communications Intern at Origami Works Foundation will have the opportunity to support and contribute to the promotional campaign for the Foundation’s recently-published workforce development book, Talent Connections. The Communications Intern will also help drive strategic communications for the Foundation. Daily duties will include working closely with team members on the Talent Connections marketing campaign, managing and creating posts on Origami Works’ LinkedIn, assisting with light graphic design and visual content in Canva and similar platforms, conducting regular communications with partner organizations, as well as assisting as-needed on other Origami Works projects. This position is for anyone with an interest in communications, public relations, or marketing. The ideal candidate will be self-driven and eager to learn about Origami Works Foundation and nonprofit work.

The internship includes ~5 hours per week of paid professional development provided by our partners at The CAFÉ (Cleveland Avenue Foundation for Education) designed to develop professional skills and facilitate professional networking. 

In order to apply, you must meet all of the minimum requirements listed below. (THE DEADLINE TO APPLY is April 6th.) 

  1. Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship for the period of the internship (June 1st through August 7th 2026).
  2. First Generation College Student, pursuing a Bachelor's degree
  3. Undergraduate student during the summer of 2026.  (Already started undergraduate college but have not yet graduated with a 4 year degree.)
  4. Live in Chicago or surrounding suburbs during summer of 2026, as this is a hybrid position.
