Intern Research and Development
The Research & Development Intern will work alongside engineers to support real product and process development projects in a manufacturing environment. This role is best suited for an engineering student with a strong work ethic, a practical mindset, and a genuine interest in manufacturing and materials. Candidates should be comfortable working in lab and production environments and eager to learn quickly.
JOB TITLE: Intern, Research and Development
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support product/process development and continuous improvement projects.
- Learn and understand the materials and manufacturing process; be a technical resource for the organization.
- Perform experiments, run trials, collect data, characterize processes and materials.
- Critically analyze data gathered from literature, suppliers, historical knowledge, and performed experiments.
- Perform materials testing and characterization including tensile testing and metallography.
- Prepare and present technical reports.
- Investigate quality issues.
- Review customer and supplier specifications.
