Summer Internship: Advanced Formulation & Drug Delivery R&D
Term: June 1, 2026 – August 31, 2026 (10–12 weeks)
Compensation: $20.00/hour | 15–20 hours per week
These positions are supported by the NJ Career Accelerator Internship Grant Program. The application will be close in the middle of April, 2026.
Qualifications & Eligibility
- Education: Current undergraduate (Junior/Senior) or Graduate student pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Material Science, or a related field.
- Experience: Prior laboratory experience in a wet lab or analytical/bioanalytical environment is desirable.
- Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving abilities and excellent verbal/written communication.
- Eligibility: Must be a student at a New Jersey college/university or a NJ resident attending an out-of-state institution.
Key Responsibilities
- Advanced Formulation Development: Partner with senior scientists to optimize drug delivery vehicles using nano to micro encapsulation technologies.
- Analytical Characterization: Support R&D workstreams through precise morphology and drug delivery (skin permeation) measurements using advanced instrumentation (e.g. HPLC, stability testing, and particle analysis, image analysis and automated skin penetration test system).
- Pilot Scale-Up Support: Gain exposure to the transition from benchtop research to pilot-scale manufacturing processes.
- Independent Research Project: Spearhead a focused technical project aligned with company R&D goals, culminating in a formal data presentation to the leadership team.
- Quality & Documentation: Maintain rigorous laboratory notebooks and project management documentation consistent with pharmaceutical regulatory standards.
