Asset Management & Capitalization Intern

Summary

The Asset Management & Capitalization Intern will provide hands-on support to the Asset Management team by assisting with fixed asset data maintenance, SKU accuracy, reconciliations, and reporting. This role is designed as a cross-functional internship spanning Asset Management, Accounting, and Supply Chain, offering exposure to real-world asset lifecycle management and financial controls.

The intern will play a key role in maintaining data integrity within the fixed asset system and supporting executive-level reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Fixed Asset & SKU Support

  • Assist in maintaining the fixed asset system, with a focus on SKU setup, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Support asset data cleanup efforts, including identifying, researching, and correcting data issues across systems.
  • Help ensure asset records align with supporting documentation and system standards.

Data Integrity & System Accuracy

  • Perform data validation checks to ensure asset data accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with ongoing data integrity initiatives related to asset items, inventory records, and capitalization data.
  • Document data issues, root causes, and resolutions for tracking and audit support.

Reconciliations & Accounting Support

  • Assist with reconciliations of asset-related GL accounts under guidance from the Asset Manager and Senior Analyst.
  • Support month-end close activities related to fixed assets, as assigned.
  • Help prepare supporting schedules and documentation to ensure audit readiness.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Assist in preparing recurring and ad-hoc reports for SVPs and Executive Leadership.
  • Support basic data analysis and reporting related to asset balances, trends, and KPIs.
  • Learn how asset data is translated into executive-level financial and operational insights.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Asset Management, Accounting, Supply Chain, IT, and Operations teams as needed.
  • Gain exposure to how asset data flows across systems and departments.

Qualifications

Required

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and interest in data accuracy and controls.
  • Entry-level to intermediate Excel skills (e.g., sorting, filtering, basic formulas).
  • Ability to learn quickly and take direction from the Asset Manager and Senior Analyst.

Preferred

  • Interest in asset management, accounting, or supply chain operations.
  • Exposure to ERP systems or inventory systems (NetSuite or similar a plus, not required).
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
