Airline Crew Resource Manager

To continue our standard of excellence, Piedmont is seeking a motivated, reliable leader to join our team as a Manager, Airline Crew Resources in our Crew Resources Department. The primary responsibility of the position is to effectively plan pilot and flight attendant staffing requirements, while also maintaining staffing models and providing guidance to the Training department on qualification class sizes and start dates. The Manager of Crew Resources will have excellent communication skills, utilizing their previous flight crew scheduling experience and experience in airline flight operations to excel in the role. This position reports to the Director, Airline Crew Resources and Schedule Planning.

 

Essential Duties:

Effectively plan pilot and flight attendant staffing requirements to support the company’s monthly aircraft and block hour schedule

Maintain pilot and flight attendant staffing models to provide guidance to planning personnel

Ensure all pilot and flight attendant staffing requirements are met and coordinated with company personnel

Provide guidance on monthly new hire requirements

Provide guidance to the Training department on qualification class sizes and start dates

Assist with the development and closing of pilot permanent bid awards

Determine individual pilot equipment and position qualification training class assignment

Provide company coordination with American Airlines Network Planning on future airline schedules and company crew maximum block hours

Coordinate with appropriate Flight Operations personnel on the daily and monthly pilot and flight attendant schedule bidding and award process

Coordinate with appropriate Flight Operations personnel to ensure pilot and flight attendant staffing requirements are satisfied

Support Flight Operations Safety Management System (SMS)

Assist with the monthly bid award process

Assist with vacation relief coverage for the Planning department

Manage staff of Crew Resource Planners

 

Job Qualifications and Competencies:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Flight crew scheduling experience

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Experience with airline flight operations, including crew resource management and crew planning functions 

Excellent problem solving and time management skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Experience in crew resource planning, crew scheduling, or related airline function

Experience with crew management software applications, including CrewTrac and CAE - FLICA

Experience with preferential monthly bid award software

Knowledge and ability to research/apply Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulatory compliance

Strong project management skills

Ability to work well without supervision in a team environment

Ability to multi-task and adapt in a dynamic work environment 

 

Work Environment:

Standard office environment, use of telephones, computers, and other office equipment

Some travel required

Available to work all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays

 

Physical Requirements:

Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
