Finance Intern

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Finance Intern to join our finance team. This internship provides hands-on experience in day-to-day accounting operations, financial analysis, and reporting. The ideal candidate is eager to learn and ask questions, analytical, and comfortable working with data.

 

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as necessary.

 

1. Support Accounts Payable Process

  • Upload invoices into our ERP and other systems, reviewing for accuracy and completeness.
  • Investigate and respond to supplier inquiries.
  • Investigate and propose solutions for aged invoices and goods received not invoiced (GRNI).

2. Support Accounts Receivable Process

  • Assist with collections and posting of payments received.
  • Review orders on hold and determine actions required to release orders.

3. Month-End Close and Reporting

  • Assist with variance analysis in the SGA portion of the P&L.
  • Prepare, review, and distribute monthly reports to operations. 
  • Help identify PowerBI solutions for regular reporting.

4. Collaboration with other departments

  • Communicate in a professional manner with internal personnel.
  • Be organized and prepared for meetings.

Education and/or Experience

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Have completed at least one accounting course and have a basic understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Computer Skills

  • To perform this job successfully strong knowledge of Microsoft Office is required, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. 
  • Are comfortable navigating cloud-based systems as job could require use of banking portals, ERPs, PowerBI, and more.
