Software Engineer Intern

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

To guarantee the excellence of our operations, the quality of data—specifically addresses—has become a critical issue.

Your mission, within the Software Solutions & Engineering team (approx. 10 people), will be to design and develop a microservice dedicated to address management. The primary objective is to ensure high-performance and consistent global mapping between postal codes and cities.

This internship is an excellent opportunity to work on a project from A to Z, from the architectural design phase to cloud deployment.

 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accompanied by our senior developers, you will be expected to meet the following challenges:

API Design: Develop and expose clear, high-performance API endpoints to query this service and various data sources.

Data Aggregation: Manage and unify multiple heterogeneous data sources to cover as many countries as possible.

Performance & Caching: Implement an intelligent distributed caching mechanism to guarantee response times and limit the use of paid services.

Resilience & Cloud: Develop a solution hosted in Azure Cloud, integrating resilience mechanisms to ensure high service availability.

Technical Excellence: Rigorously apply Clean Code and Clean Architecture principles to ensure maintainable, testable, and scalable code.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • You have mastered a backend-oriented programming language in C#.

You have a strong interest in software architecture and performance issues.

Ideally, you have already heard of (or experimented with) microservices concepts, caching (Redis, Memcached…), or API design.

You are curious, autonomous, and take pride in quality work (unit tests, refactoring).

 

 

EDUCATION:

Student in an engineering school or university computer science program (Bachelor’s to Master’s level).

 

 

PAY RANGE:

  • Base pay will be $23/hour

 

LOCALIZATION AND TRAVEL EXPECTED:

  • This position is located in West Bend, WI.
  • No travel expected.
