Community Engagement & Business Analyst Intern
The intern will support community engagement and public communications by helping create resident-facing materials, coordinating events, and maintaining accurate public information. The role also includes collecting and analyzing engagement data to identify trends and recommend improvements. This internship offers hands-on experience in municipal government for students interested in communications, public administration, data analysis, or urban studies.
Essential Functions
- Assist with planning and supporting community events, workshops, and pop-up outreach.
- Help develop public materials such as flyers, presentations, FAQs, and service guides.
- Draft and update digital content, including website pages and social media posts.
- Collect and summarize community feedback from surveys and meetings.
- Track and analyze engagement metrics and prepare summary reports.
- Conduct research on engagement strategies and best practices.
- Maintain outreach calendars, contact lists, and stakeholder databases.
- Support cross-department collaboration to ensure accurate public information.
- Provide on-site event support and assist with follow-up tasks.
- Participate in meetings and help document action items.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college or university in Communications, Public Administration, Urban Studies, Urban Planning, Political Science, Sociology, Marketing, Data Analytics, or a related field.
