SIHO Internship Overview – Summer 2026
Welcome to the SIHO Summer Internship Program! We are thrilled to offer college students the chance to embark on an immersive, 12-week journey into the dynamic health insurance industry. This program is designed to provide hands-on experience, valuable industry insights, community engagement, and meaningful professional growth opportunities.


Program Duration: May 18 – August 7, 2026 (12-week program)

Program Highlights:
Hands-On Departmental Experience: Dive into department-specific tasks, gaining practical experience and exposure to the inner workings of the health insurance industry. Work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to impactful, real-world projects.


Weekly Industry Leader Sessions: Participate in weekly discussions with industry experts on topics such as emerging trends, market insights, and career advice. Build connections and expand your professional network.


Capstone Project Presentation: Develop and present a comprehensive end-of-summer project to SIHO’s executive leadership team. Demonstrate your understanding, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.


Community Engagement: Embrace SIHO's commitment to social responsibility through organized volunteer initiatives. Connect with the community and contribute to positive change.

About MyTruAdvantage Technical Services / Software Engineering

Technical Services supports the systems, applications, and digital platforms that power SIHO’s MyTruAdvantage products and internal operations. The team focuses on software development, system integration, data management, application support, and ongoing technical improvements that ensure secure, reliable, and efficient technology solutions. Working closely with business partners, vendors, and other IT teams, Technical Services helps translate business needs into technical solutions that enhance user experience, improve operational efficiency, and support SIHO’s long-term technology strategy. Their work plays a critical role in maintaining system performance, enabling innovation, and supporting members and internal users through dependable technology.

In this role, you will:

  • Assist with software development and technical projects, such as building, enhancing, testing, or supporting applications and system features
  • Support application maintenance and troubleshooting, including identifying issues, documenting defects, and helping test fixes or enhancements
  • Participate in coding, configuration, or scripting tasks under the guidance of experienced software engineers or technical staff
  • Help document system processes, workflows, technical specifications, and user guides to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and help translate them into technical solutions
  • Gain hands-on experience with software engineering practices, including version control, testing, debugging, and code reviews
  • Develop exposure to enterprise systems, integrations, and healthcare-related technology environments, building real-world experience in a professional IT setting

 

Qualifications: College students completing their junior or senior year in majors such as Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Finance, Marketing, or related fields. Strong academic performance and a keen interest in the health insurance industry. Exceptional communication and teamwork skills.
