The National Voices for Equality, Education, and Enlightenment (NVEEE) is an award-winning, congressionally recognized national nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing bullying, violence, and suicide through education, mentorship, and community engagement. Our youth-centered programs promote leadership, mental wellness, and social responsibility across the United States.
Committee Overview
The Fundraising, Grants & Sponsorship Committee supports NVEEE's Executive Director in implementing the organization's comprehensive fundraising strategy. Interns on this committee contribute to four core areas of work: grant research and proposal development, sponsor and donor engagement, sponsorship acquisition, and general fundraising initiatives. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience in nonprofit resource development while directly supporting programs that impact young people nationwide.
Subcommittees & Responsibilities
Interns are assigned to one primary subcommittee and may opt into a secondary area based on interest and availability.
Grant Research & Proposals
- Research and identify grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government entities aligned with NVEEE's mission
- Draft and contribute to compelling grant proposals that clearly articulate organizational goals and program needs
- Track application deadlines and maintain a calendar of grant submissions
Sponsor & Donor Development and Management
- Identify and research prospective individual donors and organizational sponsors
- Draft donation request letters, sponsorship proposals, and donor acknowledgment communications
- Maintain and update a database of funding prospects and track outreach progress
- Support the cultivation of long-term relationships with current and prospective donors
Sponsorships
- Develop strategies to secure corporate sponsorships, in-kind donations, and pro-bono support
- Research Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) campaigns aligned with NVEEE's programs and values
- Reach out to local businesses, vendors, and corporate partners for event and program sponsorships
- Manage sponsor recognition and ensure ongoing communication with contributing partners
General Fundraising
- Support the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns across multiple channels, including email marketing, peer-to-peer campaigns, social media appeals, and direct outreach
- Assist with event-based fundraising logistics, including coordination with vendors and sponsors
- Write detailed progress reports and prepare presentations to communicate campaign outcomes to stakeholders
- Analyze the results of past fundraising efforts to inform future strategies
Time Commitment
This is a remote, unpaid internship requiring 20–30 hours per week. Scheduling is flexible but should fall within Monday–Friday business hours. Academic credit may be arranged through your institution; NVEEE will provide all required supporting documentation upon request.
Qualities for Success
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
- Data-driven approach to evaluating opportunities and measuring progress
- Clear and professional communicator, both verbally and in writing
- Integrity and transparency in all donor and stakeholder interactions
- Genuine enthusiasm for NVEEE's mission and the nonprofit sector
- Familiarity with Google Workspace; experience with spreadsheets and data entry is a plus
