Responsibilities:
- Assist the Electrical Construction Estimating Team in estimating large electrical projects using software such as Conest & Bluebeam, often providing a Design Build solution. Position will include estimating multiple opportunities at once within a short timeline.
- Assist the Electrical Service Team estimating small to mid-size projects that require an estimate. Position will include estimating multiple opportunities at once within a short timeline.
- Assist the Electrical Construction Project Management team managing projects including facilitating daily progress reports, ordering materials, communicating with clients and estimating Change Orders.
- Perform take-offs from blueprints and create scope letters
- Use software for project information recording, data analysis, scheduling, and forecasting utilizing cost codes
- Assist in project design and layout
- Conduct site visits to assess potential job opportunities
- Research labor costs, materials, and production times
- Review and negotiate offers and quotes from subcontractors or vendors
- Help manage client relationships and source new opportunities
- Visit job sites to ensure projects are running smoothly
- Field questions from the Electrician Field Team
- Assist in designing project maps from start to finish
- Gather and maintain paperwork for data recording and billing
- Build relationships with customers, management, and field employees
- Actively contribute to the growth and success of Compass Electrical Solutions
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Strong analytical, creativity, and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with financial and project management principles
- Proficiency in relevant software applications
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and with limited direction
- Strong math and IT abilities with an analytical mindset
- Punctuality, thoroughness, reliability, and a positive attitude
- Ability to prepare and present detailed reports
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience or internship in construction or electrical field is a plus.
