What We’re Looking For

Jolt is seeking a skilled Data Analyst to join our team to learn and contribute in big ways! We are seeking an NYC area intern to spearhead a project that merges data engineering, predictive modeling, and industry analysis to build next-generation innovative audience prediction tools. The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning, transforming, and analyzing our marketing, engagement, and other audience data to support our business strategies. You will ensure that our user data is accurate, meaningful, and integrated into our data systems to extract actionable insights that drive our film marketing strategy. This role involves working closely with the data and marketing technology teams to support optimize audience discovery efforts.

Responsibilities

Data Collection & Management:

  • Familiarity with building external data pipelines and integrating third-party databases from multiple industry sources
  • Standardize multi-platform data to ensure consistency across diverse distribution channels
  • Validate data coming from various sources are correct in formatting, accuracy, and integrity
  • Transform, process, and analyze user and audience data from various sources to support new analyses and product features
  • Assist in maintaining and upgrading data pipelines, ensuring smooth data flow within systems to unlock insights for dashboards and modeling
  • Maintain data quality standards across disparate external sources with varying formats and update frequencies


 

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Monitor and collect publicly available data from various platforms and industry reports
  • Help create dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and other marketing metrics for internal and external teams
  • Building and developing extrapolation models between different distribution channels and revenue streams
  • Support the presentation of data findings to inform marketing and business strategies

Collaboration with Data and Marketing Teams:

  • Assist in integrating data into machine learning models to improve film discovery processes and real-time marketing strategies during film releases
  • Analyze data from marketing campaigns, audience behaviors, and user engagement to derive actionable insights and external platform performance
  • Collaborate with Data Leads to refine data models and analytics products based on marketing performance and feedback.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pursuing or has recently achieved a Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
  • Familiarity with data integration and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
  • Familiarity with web scraping, API integration, and data pipeline management
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms or big data technologies (e.g. AWS) 
  • Familiarity with paid marketing tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads)
  • Experience in a fast-paced, agile marketing environment
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, AIGP) and best practices in data governance
  • Experience working cross-functionally across multiple teams, including engineering, marketing, and data
  • Excellent analytical skills with experience in data collection, cleaning, and interpretation using SQL and Python
