FACILITIES STUDENT ASSISTANT

We are seeking a student worker who will contribute to the everyday operations for the Facilities Department. The goal is to provide for the development, service, and stewardship of the university’s physical assets to sustain a functional, safe, and attractive teaching, learning, and working environment. It encompasses engineering and planning and sustainability efforts on campus as well.

 

Position qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have previous experience and strong background with Word, Excel, and Google apps to create, update, and manage spreadsheets, department docs and more. 

 

Business majors are encouraged to apply. This is an excellent opportunity for a student to demonstrate strong skills for office management, customer relations and team building.

Work will include work on various tasks within our electronic work order tracking system, TMA.

 

  • Create work orders
  • Create “PM’s”-Preventative Maintenance work orders
  • Generate “PMs”-Preventative Maintenance work orders
  • Review work orders
  • Accept work orders
  • Configure new user’s set-up
  • Enter/Invoices
  • Update/Add buildings, rooms, equipment and more

 

The process of creating work orders for Tasks requires occasional interactions with faculty and staff of 10-14 and will be done under the direct supervision of the Executive Administrative Assistant of Facilities. 

 

We are looking for someone who can commit 5-10 hours per week during the winter and fall semester, beginning immediately. Summer hours 20-40 hours per week.
