Coordinator, Digital Communications

General Description / Primary Purpose

This position is a creative, technical, and strategic communications role responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing and communication strategies, producing high‑quality digital media, and optimizing the Slate CRM.  The role collaborates closely with internal staff, partners, and faculty to enhance online student recruitment and communication workflows, ensure cohesive branding across all platforms, and elevate the visibility and value of institutional programs and services. This position plays a key role in advancing digital engagement and communication effectiveness for the University’s online programs and department.

 

Job Functions

Media & Creative

Lead the strategic development and communication of conceptual design solutions within a user‑centered design framework for the department.

Design and maintain cohesive visual systems and layouts aligned with institutional brand standards across all digital and print channels.

Plan, design, and produce visual assets—including promotional materials, branded collateral, infographics, data visualizations, and presentations—to support online students and programs

Manage ongoing website updates and enhancements, addressing usability, accessibility, and performance through testing and feedback.

Manage the review and approval of creative assets across mediums to ensure quality, accessibility, consistency, and compliance.

 

Marketing & Communications Strategy

Design and produce interactive, multi‑channel marketing assets, including websites, email campaigns, user interfaces, social media content, and presentations.

Lead creative services and digital communication initiatives, managing social media strategy to expand reach, engagement, and brand visibility.

Develop and maintain operational documentation—reports, manuals, and guides—to support marketing and communications workflows.

Use data analytics and performance metrics to optimize outreach strategies, improve student engagement, and enhance overall communication effectiveness.

Direct and execute pre-production activities, such as creating mockups and establishing a project timeline. 

Slate CRM Management & Optimization

Support and enhance Slate CRM functionality, including portals, rules, workflows, queries, forms, events, and automations related to recruitment, admissions, and communications.

Leverage Slate enhancement tools to improve communication design, efficiency, and digital workflows.

 

 

 

 

 

Required Qualifications

A Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a directly related area of specialization and two years of experience directly related to the job functions; or a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a directly related area of specialization and four years of experience directly related to the job functions.

The holder of this position is designated as a “Responsible Employee” pursuant to their role under Title IX. This position has been designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). This position has been designated as a CSA because it involves significant responsibility for student and campus activities and/or responsibility for campus security. As such, any person in this position must report to the University Police Department a crime or an incident that might be a crime that he/she becomes aware of. This position has a reporting requirement because the University believes that responsibility for students, campus activities and/or campus security will make the holder of this position someone members of the University community will see as an authority figure and someone to whom they can seek help. A CSA is not expected to investigate or determine whether a criminal incident actually took place. A CSA ’ s responsibility is a duty to report. All positions designated as CSAs are required to complete an online or in - person training session.
