Narrative Sports Script Writer — Immigrantly Media

Immigrantly is seeking a narrative-style script writer for our weekly sports podcast. We're looking for a strong storyteller who can find the human thread in a box score and write it to be heard.

Responsibilities

• Pitch, write, and edit narrative-style scripts (8–10 pages per episode)
• Revise scripts based on producer feedback with a commitment to the craft
• Conduct thorough background research and cite all sources
• Fact-check every script before delivery
• Read and interpret sports statistics and sports news
• Conduct archival research and source archival audio clips
• Deliver scripts that reflect Immigrantly's style and thematic vision
• Contribute story ideas and themes at weekly production meetings

Qualifications

• Strong narrative writing skills with a clear, distinctive voice
• Excellent written, editorial, and verbal communication
• Ability to write for the ear — pacing, rhythm, and spoken clarity
• Comfortable reading sports news and interpreting sports statistics 
• Experience with archival or investigative research a plus

Compensation: $250 flat rate per episode script (8–10 pages)
