Industrial Engineering Intern
Our prestigious nonprofit, https://ChangingThePresent.org, offers outstanding Industrial Engineering / Project Management internships.
What you’ll do:
• Own scoped projects end-to-end: clarify the goal, define success, break work into tasks, set milestones, and drive execution to “done.”
• Translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders by writing clear briefs, requirements, acceptance criteria, and status updates that prevent confusion and rework.
• Maintain execution cadence: Kanban boards, sprint planning, weekly check-ins, meeting notes, action items, and follow-through.
• Identify risks early (scope creep, blockers, dependency gaps), propose options, and push decisions to closure.
• Improve how work gets done: map workflows, surface bottlenecks, standardize
handoffs, and document SOPs (great fit for Industrial Engineering skillsets).
• Keep teams aligned with lightweight reporting: progress against plan, what changed, what’s blocked, what’s next, and what help is needed.
• Work in a professional workflow: teams, shared tools, clear deliverables, and regular mentor check-ins.
Project tracks (you’ll be placed into 1 primary track):
• Technical Project Management (engineering-facing projects, requirements, coordination across front-end/back-end/automation workstreams)
• Non-technical Project Management (projects in operations, content, partnerships, outreach, and internal processes; define scope, timelines, and deliverables; coordinate people and handoffs; ensure decisions get made; and drive projects to completion with clear status reporting)
• Operations & Process Improvement (workflow mapping, SOPs, throughput/bottleneck analysis, quality and consistency improvements)
• Program Management (multi-project coordination, timelines, stakeholder alignment, cross-team dependencies)
• Product Delivery Support (feature planning support, backlog grooming, launch
coordination, post-launch follow-up and learnings)
• Community/Platform Projects (projects related to forums, engagement initiatives, moderation workflows, and content operations)
• Partnerships & Stakeholder Management (coordinating with external nonprofits, vendors, and internal teams to deliver on commitments
