Supply Chain Intern

Our prestigious nonprofit, https://ChangingThePresent.org, offers outstanding Supply Chain and Marketplace Operations internships.

What you’ll do:
• Help build the operational backbone for a marketplace of physical gifts with social impact—so products are sourced responsibly, delivered reliably, and customers trust the experience.
• Support vendor onboarding: outreach, qualification, documentation, pricing, lead times, minimums, packaging requirements, and ongoing relationship management.
• Improve product readiness: standardize product specs, imagery requirements,
compliance details, and “what must be true” for a product to go live without surprises.
• Coordinate fulfillment and logistics workflows (shipping, tracking, returns, damage claims) and drive issues to resolution fast and professionally.
• Track and improve cost, speed, and reliability: shipping costs, unit economics, margins, lead times, stockouts, defect/return rates, and service-level performance.
• Build lightweight systems and SOPs so operations can scale (checklists, templates, escalation paths, vendor scorecards, and clear handoffs between teams).
• Work cross-functionally with product/engineering, customer support, and partners to translate operational realities into better product decisions.
• Work in a professional workflow: teams, shared tools, Kanban tickets, clear deliverables, and regular mentor check-ins.

Project tracks (you’ll be placed into 1 primary track):
• Vendor Sourcing & Partnerships (identify, vet, and onboard suppliers and mission-aligned brands; maintain relationships and accountability)
• Procurement & Product Operations (pricing, lead times, MOQs, product data readiness, catalog standards, launch checklists)
• Logistics & Fulfillment Operations (shipping workflows, carrier performance,
tracking/exception handling, returns and replacements)
• Quality, Compliance & Risk (product quality expectations, packaging standards,
documentation, issue prevention and escalation)
• Cost & Performance Analytics (unit economics, shipping cost drivers, vendor scorecards, operational KPIs, continuous improvement)
• Process Design & SOPs (repeatable playbooks, templates, workflow mapping, and scaling operations without chaos)
