Graphic Design & Multimedia Intern Summer 2026

Graphic Design & Multimedia Intern 

The Graphic Design and Multimedia Internship offers an opportunity to strengthen existing graphic design and multimedia skills to support GLAD Law’s mission. The role is on the Communications & Public Education team and focuses on producing clear, engaging materials using established brand guidelines and templates. 

This is a good fit for someone who already has basic design and/or video editing experience and is eager to apply and grow those skills in a collaborative, mission-driven environment to advance justice for LGBTQ+ people and people with HIV. 

 

Key responsibilities: 

‣ Designing print materials for events and outreach (flyers, posters, fact sheets), especially for Pride and seasonal campaigns  

‣ Creating and adapting graphics for social media, including educational carousels tied to current legislative priorities and LGBTQ+ rights 

‣ Editing and captioning short-form videos for social media 

‣ Working within GLAD Law’s brand guidelines and templates to produce consistent, accessible visuals  

‣ Supporting the organizational migration of media into a digital asset management system  

 

Qualifications: 

‣ An interest in LGBTQ+ advocacy and/or nonprofit communications 

‣ A commitment to values-informed visual communication that prioritizes expansive representation of the LGBTQ+ community 

‣ A desire to increase design skills and use visuals to communicate a nonprofit mission 

‣ Graphic design experience (coursework, internships, personal projects, etc.) 

‣ Familiarity in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and/or Canva 

‣ Basic video editing experience (e.g., Adobe Premiere, After Effects, or similar) preferred 

‣ Comfort following brand guidelines and utilizing templates to produce consistent designs 

‣ Strong attention to detail and organization 

‣ Ability to take creative direction and incorporate feedback 

‣ Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable managing multiple tasks 

Preferred (but not required): 

‣ Experience creating accessible digital content (e.g., captioning, readable layouts)  

‣ Familiarity with social media platform specs and best practices  

‣ Basic knowledge of print production and file preparation 

‣ Photography and/or photo editing skills 

 

Compensation & Location 

Stipends of up to $3,000 are available for interns who meet minimum hour requirements. The internship runs from mid-May through August. This is a hybrid position, with at least one day per week at GLAD Law’s Boston office.
