JOB POSTING: CIVIL ENGINEERING INTERN – STRUCTURES

 

OVERVIEW

We are seeking Civil Engineering Interns who will work on structures design projects at our office in New York City. NV5’s NYC Office operates on a four-day work week. The internship will be a paid internship.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The Civil Engineering Intern will engage in research, investigation, and design tasks related to structural designs for Private and Public agencies.  This may include:

 

  • Perform basic structural engineering calculations
  • Utilize various CAD software to prepare sketches and drawings
  • Assist Structural Engineers with broader engineering activities
  • Review Shop Drawings, Cost Estimates and Specifications
  • Field work for data gathering, surveys and construction observations

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a Civil or Structural Engineering Program from an accredited college
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of CAD (a plus)
  • Knowledge of Civil3D (a plus)
  • Knowledge of Microstation (a plus)
  • Detailed oriented, excellent writing skills, critical thinking
