About the Job
The Custom Applicator is responsible for delivery and application of liquid and dry fertilizer, NH3, ag lime and crop protection products. In addition, this position performs maintenance and makes repairs and/or adjustments to keep fertilizer application equipment in operating order. Seasonal overtime may be required. This position could be seasonal or full-time opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares proper truck reports and records, including truck maintenance records as required
  • Maintains organized application/spray records
  • Assists with inventory control through adhering to established procedure and reports
  • Understands the capabilities and limitations of equipment floaters, RoGators, tool bars, etc.
  • Provides prompt, professional, and courteous customer service
  • Assists the grain, agronomy, and feed operations departments as needed
  • Attends scheduled training as requested
  • Maintains a clean, safe working environment

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED and demonstrated experience in agricultural education, or combination of education and work experience
  • Prior experience in operating large equipment is required
  • Must have or be able to obtain a commercial pesticide applicators license with 1A, 1B, and 1C endorsements
  • Class A CDL preferred with HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements is preferred, or the ability to obtain within a designated timeframe.
  • Must have forklift certification or the ability to obtain one
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Must have all application licenses as required by State and Federal Agencies
  • Must be willing and able to work extended hours in-season
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen, background investigation and lift assessment
