Touchscreen Video Kiosk
We need an experienced frontend developer to build a touchscreen video kiosk web app for a trade show booth. This must be live and fully tested by this Friday.
—— What we're building ——
A self-contained touchscreen kiosk running on a Mac Mini (no internet). Visitors tap video thumbnails on a large touchscreen to watch product videos, then tap to return to the menu. Clean, simple, professional.
—— Tech stack ——
• HTML / CSS / JavaScript (or lightweight React)
• Local web server (we'll use Python's built-in server or nginx on Mac)
• Chrome running in kiosk mode (--kiosk flag, fullscreen, no browser UI)
• All video content stored locally as MP4 files — no streaming, no CDN
• Must work 100% offline — no internet at the venue
—— What you'll build ——
• Home screen: branded video thumbnail grid with company logo and colors
• Tap a thumbnail → fullscreen video plays
• Tap to return to home screen
• Auto-return to home screen after video ends
• Touch-optimized UI (large tap targets, no hover states)
• Idle screen / attract loop (after 60 seconds of no interaction)
—— About us ——
We are exhibiting at MODEX (major logistics trade show) and presenting Robot Advisor services to private visitors inside our booth. First impression matters.
—— What we need from you ——
• Availability starting TODAY — daily check-ins required
• Deliver working prototype by Tuesday, final version by Thursday
• Help us configure Chrome kiosk mode and local server on Mac (a plus)
• Preference for NH-local or EST timezone candidates
—— Budget ——
Fixed price $800–$1,500 depending on experience and speed. Open to discussion.
To apply: Send a link to one previous project (kiosk, video player, or touchscreen UI preferred). Tell me your earliest available start time today.
