Job Title: Mechanical Engineering Intern

Location: Franklin, TN (On-Site)
Overview:
EOD Gear is a U.S. defense manufacturer supporting EOD, Special Operations, SWAT, and demining teams. This is a hands-on internship where you will work on real products used in the field. You will design, prototype, and support production in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Create and modify CAD models and assemblies
Support CNC machining operations (HAAS mills/lathes)
Prototype using additive manufacturing
Apply design for manufacturability (DFM) principles
Assist with product testing, iteration, and documentation
Support quality control and inspection processes
Troubleshoot and solve real-time engineering problems
Qualifications:
Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks or similar)
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Ability to work hands-on in a shop environment
Self-starter with a bias for action
Must be a U.S. Citizen
No felony or disqualifying misdemeanor convictions; background check required
Preferred:
Experience with CNC machining or G-code
Familiarity with additive manufacturing
Understanding of tolerances, fits, and materials
