iLearnAI is an AI-first coding and robotics education center in Martinsville, NJ, offering hands-on, project-based learning and enrichment for students from Grade 1 through adults. We are building the premier destination for AI education in Central New Jersey.
Role Summary
The Lead Curriculum Instructor is the academic backbone of iLearnAI. You will teach across multiple levels, mentor part-time instructors, adapt and refine our comprehensive 8-level curriculum, and ensure every student has a transformative learning experience. This is a founding team role with significant growth potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach 20-30 class sessions per week across Levels 3-6 (ages 10-18) with occasional coverage of other levels
- Lead curriculum implementation: adapt lesson plans, create supplementary materials, update projects for relevance
- Mentor, train, and evaluate part-time instructors and teaching assistants
- Conduct student assessments and track student progress through the 8-levels
- Prepare and deliver capstone project showcases and parent demonstrations
- Manage classroom technology: set up, maintain, and troubleshoot software, robotics, and laptopsĀ
- Collaborate with the Center Director on programs, scheduling, and quality improvement
- Participate in community outreach, school visits, and free trial sessions as lead instructor
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI/ML, or related STEM field
- 2+ years of teaching, tutoring, or mentoring experience with K-12 or college students
- Strong proficiency in Python; working knowledge of Java
- Hands-on experience with at least two: machine learning (scikit-learn/TensorFlow/PyTorch), robotics, web development
- Excellent communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts to learners and parents
- Must pass NJ criminal background check and fingerprinting
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's/PhD degree in CS, AI, or related field
- Experience with Scratch, ScratchJr, Code.org, micro:bit, LEGO robotics
- Familiarity with LLMs, Hugging Face, LangChain, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP)
- Experience in robotics competitions (FIRST, VEX)
