Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Clinical Operations & Compliance Contractor to provide independent, outcome-focused support for an accredited, pain-management–focused ASC in Delaware. This is a non-employee, contractor role designed for a seasoned ASC professional who can operate autonomously and support survey readiness, clinical operations, and regulatory compliance.

This role may involve direct patient care, shift coverage, or staff replacement if desired.

 

Core Responsibilities (Consulting Scope):

  • Provide support for ASC clinical operations, compliance, and survey readiness
  • Support ongoing readiness for QuadA, CMS, and Delaware Department of Health (OHFLC) surveys
  • Review, refine, and maintain ASC policies, procedures, mauals and logs
  • Assist with QAPI activities, audit tracking, and corrective action follow-through
  • Support infection control, anesthesia workflow readiness, and emergency preparedness documentation, and manage inventory management
  • Advise leadership on regulatory gaps and operational risk mitigation
  • Support staff education planning and compliance-related in-services
  • Participate in mock surveys, tracers, and readiness reviews as needed

 

Must-Have Qualifications (Non-Negotiable):

  • Prior experience working in an accredited Ambulatory Surgery Center (hospital-only or clinic-only experience does not qualify)
  • Direct participation in ASC surveys (QuadA, CMS, and/or State)
  • Hands-on experience with: ASC policies & procedures; Required logs (infection control, drills, equipment, etc.); Emergency preparedness and drills; QAPI documentation and audits
  • Strong working knowledge of ASC regulatory frameworks
  • Ability to function independently as a 1099 contractor

 

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Experience in a spine center, interventional pain management or a small surgery center
  • Exposure to SPD / instrument reprocessing oversight
  • Anesthesia workflow familiarity (MAC / moderate sedation environments)
  • Prior experience supporting corrective action plans after surveys
  • ASC/Medical Billing

 

1099 Consulting Relationship:

  • Independent contractor status (1099)
  • Flexible scheduling based on deliverables
  • No benefits, no guaranteed hours
  • Living in Delaware or the nearby vicinity

 

Time Commitment: 8–10 Hours / Week

Deliverable-Driven:

  • Monthly readiness reviews
  • Written gap summaries
  • Advisory recommendations to leadership
  • Deeper QAPI support
  • Drill planning and after-action documentation
  • Staff education coordination (non-managerial)
  • Increased on-site or virtual presence during readiness cycles
  • Support during live surveys, as needed
