Administrative Assistant, Medical Billing Support Specialist

Position Overview:

We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to run a medical practice and a speciality ambulatory surgical center.  Experience or interest in Medical Billing support is also required. 

This is an entry-level, full-time role in Delaware and is best suited for someone living in Delaware or who has reasons to move to Delaware.

Suitable for someone finishing their degree and seeking a healthcare career.

This is not for a full-time college student seeking part-time work.

 

Key Responsibilities: Administrative Help, Billing & Claims Support:

  • Support the medical practice as an Administrative Assistant in day to day management of the medical practice and the speciality surgical center.
  • Support managing the Electronic Health Records and Electronic Medical Record Management- eClinicalWorks
  • Support billing medical workflows for: Medical Health Insurance Billing; Workers’ Compensation; Auto Accident; Attorney-represented medico-legal cases
  • Prepare, submit, and track health insurance claims using eClinicalWorks
  • Assist with charge entry, claim follow-up, and payment posting
  • Monitor claim status, appeals, resubmissions, and documentation requests
  • Track prior authorizations, lien status, and patient/claim-specific requirements
  • Maintain accurate notes and payer-specific billing documentation
  • Assist with record requests, billing statements, and itemized invoices

 

Must-Have Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelor's Degree and education in medical-related subjects- biology, medical technology, health care management etc.,
  • Prior experience in EMR, EHR or medical billing preferred.
  • Working knowledge in eClinicalWorks preferred
  • Professional communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong computer and EMR software learning and navigation skills

 

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Experience in pain management, orthopedics, neurology, or surgical practices
  • Prior experience working in a physician's office setting
  • Familiarity with: Delaware-specific health insurance, Worker's compensation or PIP billing nuances

 

Work Environment:

  • Speciality outpatient medical practice
  • EMR documentation- billing environment
  • Close collaboration with clinical, administrative, and billing

  • For someone living in Delaware or the nearby vicinity
  • Is not suitable for CPT and OPT international graduates.
