Admissions Video Host
The University of Iowa Office of Admissions is seeking a current undergraduate student to host (on camera) videos geared at prospective students looking to attend the University of Iowa. Admissions provides cameras, microphones, and other equipment and has a video production team that will handle the technical side of productions.
- $12.50 per hour starting salary
- 10 or 15 hours per week
- Very flexible scheduling (occasional evening and weekend assignments)
Duties:
- Host videos as part of our “On Location” series, which is sent to prospective students via email and social channels.
- Collaborate on brainstorming, outlining, and scripting admissions videos. Host other videos for student recruitment as needed.
- Engage with students, faculty, and staff on camera for admissions videos. No formal news reporting needed.
- Bring your personality to every video—be curious, expressive, and not afraid to have fun on camera.
- Work with Admissions Student Video Producers to schedule shoots, which may include occasional evenings or weekends.
Required Qualifications:
- Comfortable on camera interviewing and talking about experiences at the University of Iowa
- Experience in planning, scripting, and producing videos
- Highly creative, passionate, and entertaining
Desired Qualifications (optional):
- Familiarity with video/audio editing
- Familiarity with video production equipment (cameras, mics, etc.)
- Familiarity with online media distribution sites such as YouTube and social channels
