Power Systems Engineer

Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled electrical engineer to join our Studies Team in our Bremerton, WA office.  This role offers a unique opportunity to perform complex electrical system studies focusing on transmission system reliability, interconnection studies, integration and controls analysis related to various generation types including wind, solar, batteries, thermal, and hydro, and evaluation of transmission system performance and compliance issues.

Core Responsibilities:
This role is highly technical, requiring the candidate to perform steady-state power flow, transient stability, short-circuit, and electro-magnetic transient (EMT) analysis.  The successful engineering candidate will have knowledge and/or experience in power system modeling, simulation, and analysis.  Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 
• Data processing, automation, visualization, and scripting in python.
• Building complex spreadsheets, creating post-processing tools, managing complex databases, and conducting electrical engineering calculations.
• Assisting project managers with scheduling and tracking deliverables
• Assisting senior engineers by managing client relationships especially related to data requests, data submissions, and progress reports to clients.  


Qualifications:
The qualified candidate should be able to demonstrate:
• Receipt of a BSEE degree from an ABET-accredited college or university (note that graduate degrees with a focus on power and energy are highly valued). 
• Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering examination (EIT) and a willingness to pursue Professional Engineering licensure.
• Basic experience using one or more of the following power systems modeling software Siemens PSS/e, GE PSLF, PowerWorld, ASPEN, PSCAD, EMTP, etc.
• Attention to detail, ability to process and consolidate technical information into comprehensive recommendations, and high proficiency in technical writing and presenting.
• This is an early-career technical engineering role; we desire a proactive professional who seeks to grow their power systems engineering knowledge under guidance and mentorship from our senior engineering team.  We expect that the candidate will grow into a client-facing role with an ability to manage a project from beginning to end.
