Job Description:
This 10-week program located in Compton, CA , will take place on June 1st, 2026 to August 6th, 2026.
As an Industrial Engineering Intern, you will play a key role in analyzing, designing, and improving operational processes across our transportation and warehouse network. This role is highly hands-on and project-based, with a strong focus on process optimization, facility layout, and performance improvement.
Interns will gain exposure to the following areas:
Operational Process Improvement
- Conduct time studies and workflow analysis to identify inefficiencies in warehouse and yard operations
- Partner with operational leaders to improve labor utilization, throughput, and service levels
- Analyze current processes and recommend data-driven improvements
Engineering & Facility Design
- Utilize CAD software to design and optimize warehouse layouts, storage configurations, and yard flow
- Assist in developing standardized operating procedures and process documentation
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across multiple facilities
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Build and analyze datasets related to labor productivity, dwell time, and operational KPIs
- Develop dashboards and reports to track performance and measure improvement impact
- Present findings and recommendations to leadership
Cross-Functional Exposure
- Collaborate with operations, finance, and transportation teams to understand end-to-end logistics processes
- Travel to nearby facilities to observe different operational models and identify best practices
- Gain exposure to real-world supply chain challenges and engineering-driven solutions

Candidate Requirements:
- Working toward a bachelors in: Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Engineering, or related field.
- Majors are not viewed heavily, so do not hesitate to apply if you fall out of this scope
- Spanish ability is not required but a plus
- Rising junior or senior with a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar)
- Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
- Interest in logistics, transportation, or warehouse operations
- Experience with data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, or similar)
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong willingness to learn
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
