The HR Intern provides administrative and project support to the Human Resources department while gaining hands-on experience in HR operations within a construction environment.

The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with filing and maintaining employment records related to hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions using human resources management systems
  • Support onboarding efforts by preparing new hire paperwork, coordinating DocuSign documents, and assisting with orientation logistics
  • Help coordinate pre-employment requirements such as background checks and drug testing
  • Assist in maintaining and updating HR documents, trackers, and internal systems (e.g., CMiC)
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, events, and HR communications
  • Attend and participate in recruitment events such as college visits and career fairs, as needed
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information
  • Field employee questions as appropriate and escalate when needed
  • Assist with special projects, including policy updates, reporting, and training materials
  • All other duties, tasks and/or projects as assigned
  • Participation and completion in scheduled and applicable safety training, as determined by the company.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Skilled in computer and systems, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and internet-based tools & systems

  • Strong work ethic and sense of integrity, and trustworthiness.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Creative in brainstorming and proposing new ideas and solutions.

Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • Previous internship or administrative experience is a plus, but not required
