Camp Counselor
General Function:
Supervise and lead fun outdoor activities for an assigned group of campers between the ages of 6-11. Be a positive role model and interact with enthusiasm and energy.
Expectations:
- Be a responsible and positive adult role model while leading and engaging in sports, swimming, hikes, arts & crafts, nature, and teambuilding activities
- Ensure maximum participation by assigned group of campers
- Track attendance accurately and follow assigned schedule
- Work as a team player with other counselors
- Create a fun and safe camp environment
- Ensure safety on camp buses
- Attend all counselor trainings prior to the beginning of camp
Qualifications Required:
- High school diploma
- Ability to adjust to a fast pace of work, think on your feet, and use common sense
- Ability to effectively relate to youth of various ages
- Familiarity with the diverse population that the Boys & Girls Club serves
- Experience in youth development, education, or recreation (coaching) preferred
