Data Analyst | 2026 Early Career Foundations Program

The Statistical Data Management (SDM) division of ISO/Verisk is responsible for insurance data collected via ISO's statistical plans as well as via alternative data collection methodologies. As part of the Data Validation team, you will be part of a fast-developing group with the aim of developing and implementing data validation tools in support of ISO's data assets. 

The Data Analyst will work within a team environment to identify statistical reporting data requirements, including data quality needs, as well as support activities with data contributors. They will contribute to developing innovative solutions that will enhance the value of ISO's data and information assets. The ideal candidate is highly inquisitive, detail-oriented, and an analytical thinker that will be able to learn our business logic and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze regulatory and business requirements for the development of multiline data validation quality checks and changes to ISO's data management and reporting systems.
  • Incorporate data modernization techniques and AI tools to develop improved and automated methods to ingest and validate insurance data 
  • Promote and execute quality service by following data quality and customer service standards, analyze and resolve customer data problems, identify trends, and provide suggestions for improvement in data quality review procedures. 
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments (actuarial, IT, statistical reporting, etc.) to ensure smooth delivery of service enhancements and features.
  • Create queries and extract information from internal databases.
  • Build and maintain proper documentation, procedures and guidelines. 
  • Prioritize business needs and make considered decisions while handling multiple projects within an agile framework.

Qualifications

  • Must be graduating in May/June 2026
  • Bachelor's degree, with an emphasis in business analytics, actuarial science, risk management, data science, economics, or a related field. 
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel) and text editors (Notepad++).  
  • Proficiency with SQL and Power BI. 
  • Experience working with AI enabled tools, including strong prompting skills to guide, refine, and validate data.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work under time constraints and adjust plans in the face of changing priorities.
  • Capable of working both independently and in a team environment.
  • Passion for problem solving and data modernization.

Preferred but not required:

  • Professional insurance exams such as CPCU, CAS, IDMA, etc. 
  • Familiarity with coding skills such as Python and R.
  • Experience working with JIRA within an agile framework.
  • Internship experience in property & casualty insurance, actuarial, or data analysis experience, or a related field.
