IJM January 2027 Global Interns and Fellows Field Office Deployment (1-year)

The Need  

For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking Field Administration Interns & Fellows. 

 

What You Can Expect to Do

While tasks vary by role and region, Field Office Interns & Fellows typically support projects such as:

  • Conducting research on case trends, justice systems, or regional risks
  • Preparing memos, briefs, and reports for Field Office leadership
  • Supporting Aftercare programs with research, materials, or case documentation
  • Helping manage project timelines, meeting logistics, or workflow systems
  • Tracking case-related data or program impact metrics
  • Supporting government or community trainings hosted by IJM
  • Assisting Field Office teams with administrative or operational needs
  • Participating in cross‑cultural field programs, team meetings, and professional development

These roles offer a unique opportunity to experience international program work in a cross‑cultural environment while contributing to meaningful, mission-driven impact.

 

Available Focus Areas 

Placement varies by Field Office location and needs, with opportunities in:

  • Legal & Casework Support: Legal research, documentation, and case preparation.
  • Aftercare / Survivor Services: Research, program support, and survivor‑focused resource development.
  • Investigations Support: Open‑source research, training logistics, and case analysis (non‑operational).
  • Program Management & Field Operations: Planning, data tracking, workflow support, and project coordination.
  • Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL): Data collection, analysis, and research for program effectiveness.
  • Community Engagement & Advocacy: Supporting outreach, training materials, and partnership coordination.
  • Business Strategy & Effectiveness: Strengthening internal systems, processes, and strategic tools.

 

Positions may be available in: Accra, Ghana; Bucharest, Romania; Lima, Peru; Guatemala City, Guatemala; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Jakarta, Indonesia; Bangkok, Thailand; Manila, Philippines. Not every position will be available in every office.   

 

Program duration is 12 months, from January 2027 – December 2027. 

 

Internship General Qualifications and Required Skills  

  • Bachelor's degree;  
  • Organizational and administrative skills;  
  • Attention to detail;  
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software and Windows strongly preferred; and  
  • Fluency in Spanish required for Latin America offices.  

 

Fellowship General Qualifications and Required Skills  

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 3+ years of professional experience and/or a graduate degree; 
  • Organizational and administrative skills;  
  • Attention to detail;  
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software and Windows strongly preferred; and  
  • Fluency in Spanish required for Latin America offices.

As volunteers, interns and fellows receive a monthly stipend to help defray their expenses related to participating in the internship program. This volunteer stipend is not an hourly wage, nor wages paid for services provided by the intern or fellow.

 *What is a statement of faith?  
A statement of faith should describe your Christian faith and how you see it as relevant to your involvement with IJM. The statement can either be incorporated into the cover letter or submitted as a separate document and should include, at a minimum, a description of your spiritual disciplines (prayer, study, etc.) and your current fellowship or place of worship.
