Temporary Legal Recruiting Assistant

Role: Temporary Legal Recruiting Assistant 

Location: Chicago/Hybrid Duration: 15 hours per week in April & May (flexible depending on class and exam schedule), then full-time through from June to the end of August 

Compensation: $18 per hour

 Summary

Jenner & Block is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative Temporary Legal Recruiting Assistant to join our team in Chicago. This is a unique opportunity for a proactive problem-solver with strong interpersonal and organizational skills to join a dynamic Talent Team dedicated to attracting, hiring, and retaining top-tier legal talent while contributing to firmwide initiatives that shape the future of our workforce. This team member will be given substantive learning opportunities and an insider's understanding of how top-performing law firms recruit, retain, and develop our lawyers and strategy-while working to strengthen the cultural elements that define the firm. The Temporary Legal Recruiting Assistant will be a key member of the Chicago and firmwide recruiting team, supporting law student, post-clerk, and lateral hiring. This role will also assist in supporting the planning and execution of the summer associate program, recruiting events, and other initiatives that contribute to building a strong talent pipeline. This role will report to the Chicago Legal Recruiting Manager and work closely with our overall Legal Recruiting Team, attorneys, candidates, and summer associates.


Essential Job Functions
- Support the interview process – Assist with organizing candidate applications and help maintain our ATS database (Vi Recruit)
 - Support law student hiring efforts – Assist with law school outreach, and relationships with career services offices.
 - Support summer associate program – Assist in organizing office-specific and firmwide orientation programming, monitor program logistics, assist with gathering information for mid-summer and end of summer evaluations. Assist with planning office specific daytime meetings and evening social events for 10-week program. Attend and support internal and external summer program events


Qualifications and Requirements
 - Currently enrolled in a college or university (undergraduate preferred)
 - Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with candidates, attorneys, and staff.
 - Attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
 - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and the ability to learn new systems.
