Mental Health Therapist

At Transitions: Counseling Services, we believe in empowering our clinicians to create a healthy work-life balance while providing exceptional care to our clients. We’re expanding our team and seeking compassionate and motivated clinicians to join us in-person at our Greenville, MI office.

We have high demand for couple’s counselors and clinicians specializing in children and teens, though applicants with general mental health expertise are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual, couple, and family counseling with a focus on evidence-based practices
  • Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and document progress notes in compliance with HIPAA and ethical standards
  • Deliver therapy to children, adolescents, and/or adults depending on specialization
  • Facilitate crisis intervention and risk assessments as needed
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and community resources when appropriate
  • Maintain continuing education and stay current with best practices in counseling and therapy
  • Support clients with diverse backgrounds, ensuring an inclusive and respectful environment
  • Participate in case consultations, peer support, or supervision sessions as required by license level
  • Uphold professional, ethical, and legal standards of practice

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related mental health field
  • Current licensure in Michigan as one of the following:
    • LMSW, LLMSW
    • LPC, LLPC
    • LLP, LP
  • Limited Licensed professionals encouraged to apply (supervision and mentoring available)
  • At least 1 year of clinical experience preferred (internships may be considered)
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
  • Comfort with telehealth platforms and electronic health records

Preferred Certifications & Specialized Training (not required but highly valued):

  • Gottman Method Couples Therapy or EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) certification
  • Play Therapy certification (RPT or working toward RPT credential)
  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) certification
  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) training
  • Certification in grief counseling, family therapy, or child/adolescent-focused modalities
