Position Title: Manager on Duty
Location: Providence REC Center, 7525 Marc Dr. Falls Church VA
Hours: Hours vary and may include weekdays, weekends, mornings, mid-day, and evenings shift.
Salary: Starting at $16 per hour, depending on experience.
Overview:
PRC is looking for dynamic leaders to join our operations management team.

Duties Include:
- Ensures the safe and effective operation of the Rec Center. Early shift opens the Rec Center, preparing it for members and staff. Closing shift closes and secures the Rec Center at the end of each day.
- Leads the operational staff, providing leadership, coaching and feedback.
- Ensures Rec Center is well maintained and kept in safe conditions.
- Performs routine maintenance and custodial tasks to include sanitizing high touch surface areas, emptying trash cans, and cleaning restrooms and other areas.
- Provides excellent customer service, answers phones, greets patrons, gives facility tours, sells memberships, and assist customers in resolving issues or concerns.
- Performs administrative work as needed.
- Takes initiative to increase one's knowledge of the Rec Center operations, its facilities, programs, services, and resources.
- Serves as the primary contact point for Rec Center customers. Provides verbal and written information and directions relating to facilities, programs, picnic area use, trails, natural and cultural resources, and other topics.
- Stays up to date on Park Authority Rules and Regulations, Standard Operating Procedures, state and county laws, and other pertinent guidance.
- Note’s safety/security and maintenance concerns, addresses them where feasible, and reports to supervisor using appropriate methods and recordkeeping.
- Responds on behalf of the Park Authority in potential and actual emergency situations occurring on site while on duty.
- Completes special projects and tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Be able to lift up to 25 pounds and perform general maintenance and custodial work.
- Must be personable, punctual, dependable, and self-motivated.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Supervisory experience.
- Extensive customer service experience.
- Experience dealing effectively with emergencies and other difficult situations.
Necessary Special Requirements:
- The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer.
Note: If selected for a part time benefited position, you will be scheduled to work a minimum 1,040 hours and no more than a maximum of 1,560 hours in a calendar year. The Benefit Eligible position is eligible to receive limited benefits, including: Medical/Vision/Dental Insurance Coverage, Flexible Spending Program, and Deferred Compensation.
