Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Intern


Job Purpose: This is a summer position where you’ll be responsible for engaging in software learning opportunities within the construction virtual design process. Shadowing and working with experienced detailers while developing detailed info for electrical construction. This position requires mandatory in-office presence and will report to our Libertyville office on a daily basis.


Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with VDC, PreFab and Project Teams.
  • Work alongside experienced detailers with the utilization of BIM software modeling electrical systems
  • Produce fabrication spool drawings, detailed rack drawings, CAD as-builts, and CAD files for our CNC machine


 

Job Qualifications:

  • Local to headquarters (Libertyville, IL)
  • Technical computer knowledge (AutoCAD basics preferred but not required)
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Navisworks, or any other BIM software is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Excels at time management and prioritization, consistently meeting deadlines while generating high-quality work
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm for contributing to a positive and inclusive work environment
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Able to read and understand drawings and plans
  • Possesses a strong sense of responsibility and accountability for assigned tasks and projects
  • Interest in being in the Construction environment
