Engineering State Chaperone
Location: Utah State University, Logan, UT (Living Learning Center Apartments)
Dates: June 18–19, 2026 and June 22-23, 2026
Time Commitment:
June 18 and June 22: Approximately 8:30 AM – 11:00 PM (14 hours)
June 19 and June 23: Approximately 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (8-9 hours)
Includes overnight stay in the dorms with participants
On-Campus ACA Variable Hours
Compensation: $15/hour
Reports To: Camp Coordinator, College of Engineering
Position Overview:
Engineering State is a two-day, overnight summer camp hosted by the Utah State University College of Engineering. It provides high school seniors with an engaging, hands-on introduction to engineering fields through labs, challenges, and campus experiences. Chaperones help ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive environment throughout the event.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise Campers: Ensure the safety and well-being of campers during all scheduled activities and overnight in the dorms.
Stay in Dorms: Reside in the Living Learning Center Apartments overnight with campers, ensuring rules are followed and students are accounted for.
Support Activities: Assist with transitions between sessions, meals, and events while promoting a fun and respectful atmosphere.
Mentor Participants: Be a positive role model, encouraging participation and respectful behavior.
Respond to Issues: Address minor concerns or emergencies and follow camp protocols.
Qualifications:
Must be 18 or older.
Experience working with high school-aged youth preferred.
Responsible, friendly, and able to work collaboratively.
Comfortable staying overnight in dorm-style housing with students.
Must pass a background check.
US work authorization required.
