PART-TIME NATURE EDUCATION ASSISTANT Job #1105-1

Hiring Pay Rate: $13.25 per hour


The County is currently accepting applications for the position of PT Nature Education Assistant. This position assists with the presentation of special Nature Center programs; assists with Spring and Summer camps; performs impromptu programs when necessary; handles and presents native North Carolina animals and non-native animals during programs; helps create and design new education programs; works with social media outreach programs; and provides excellent customer service to the general public.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Adobe Photoshop; the ability to work independently; the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outside in summer weather conditions; and the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.


Requires high school diploma and experience working in a summer camp setting; a degree in education, environmental science or related area preferred; bilingual Spanish skills preferred; ability to work with and edit film media to develop educational programming is a plus.
