Webber Summer Internship Program – Surveying - Heavy Civil
Overview
The Intern will provide on-hand support to various roles within Webber. It is a dynamic position designed as a 12- week program, focusing on each of the following areas: Safety and Surveying. Webber offers internships several locations in our Heavy Civil, Waterworks, Infrastructure Management, and Energy divisions.
Internship Goals
Properly read and understand plan sets.
Identify and mitigate conflicts on the construction of the project, such as: Conflicts between Earthworks, Retaining Walls, Drainage & Bridge work.
Help identify areas where work can be expedited and areas where some extra prep. work might be needed.
Plan, perform and process drone flights.
Manipulate drone data to obtain: Orthophotos, Surfaces & Obtain areas and volumes.
Provide monthly QTYs to help track the production of the project.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a survey program or related field required
Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications
Moderate to high level of computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers
Ability to perform moderate to high level of physical activity in field-based construction environment
Willingness to work out in the field and the office
Basic understanding of how surveying equipment works
Basic understanding of common engineering and survey terms.
