Social Media Intern

Social Media and Creative Growth Intern (10–15 hrs/week, $20/hr):

  • Location: Remote
  • Compensation: $20/hour
  • Start Date: June 8 
  • Duration: 10 weeks (with possibility to extend)

Pangoo is a women’s outdoor apparel startup on a mission to design technical gear that actually fits bodies with curves and expands who gets to feel at home in the outdoors. If you’re passionate about storytelling, climbing/outdoor culture, and creating content that resonates deeply with underrepresented communities, we’d love for you to join our team!

We’re looking for a proactive Social Media & Creative Growth Intern who’s excited to shape the voice of a fast-growing early stage brand. You’ll work directly with the founder and play a key role in producing content, building community, and shaping early marketing systems.

 

What You’ll Do: 

This role is a mix of content creation, research, and strategy.

Content Production (Primary Focus)

  • Develop and manage weekly content calendars
  • Research trends, storytelling formats, and competitive brands
  • Create short-form video content (Reels/TikToks) and static posts
  • Produce educational, storytelling, and founder-led video concepts
  • Repurpose footage into multiple high-performing formats
  • Build out visual templates on Canva
     

Influencer & Community

  • Research and organize a database of ideal influencers/creators
  • Assist with influencer outreach and product seeding
  • Identify opportunities for community engagement
  • Track UGC and coordinate incoming content
  • Help monitor engagement, performance trends, and metrics
  • Compile insights into weekly reports
     

Key Deliverables: 

  • A library of:
    • 30x Short-form videos
    • 3x Long-form storytelling videos
    • 10x Static educational posts
       
  • A 50–100 person influencer list + outreach funnel
  • 5+ influencer collaborations secured
  • High-performing content templates and a storytelling playbook
  • Insight report on content performance + recommendations

 

What You’ll Learn

This internship is designed to give you real, hands-on experience running content for a growing consumer brand that actually moves the needle.

You will learn through hands-on application:

  • How to develop a content strategy for a startup, including how to identify pillars, define brand voice, and map content to business goals.
  • How to translate brand identity into social content and collaborations, with an emphasis on storytelling, authenticity, and community-oriented messaging.
  • How to ideate and produce both video and static content
  • How to interpret social analytics, understanding what metrics matter, and how to evaluate performance 
  • How to grow an early-stage brand’s presence across platforms, and how strategies differ between platforms. 
  • How to develop an influencer seeding plan  
     

By the end of the internship, you’ll have:

  • A portfolio of published videos and posts (with quantifiable metrics) 
  • Experience shaping a brand’s social presence from the ground up
  • A strong understanding of content/influencer strategy, storytelling, and on-camera communication

 

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who’s enthusiastic, resourceful, and willing to learn who is: 

  • Deeply familiar with Instagram/TikTok trends
  • A strong storyteller with a sharp eye for aesthetics
  • Comfortable filming, editing, experimenting, and being on camera
  • Organized and process-oriented
  • A climber or outdoor enthusiast interested in women’s gear & apparel
  • Excited to work in a small, scrappy startup environment

Bonus points if you:

  • Have direct experience with climbing and/or outdoor sports
  • Have UGC/content creation experience
  • Have experience with Canva, Adobe Suite, CapCut, and similar tools
  • Have experience in product design or women’s apparel

Time Commitment:

  • 10–15 hours/week, asynchronous with required weekly check-in + documentation. Remote-friendly, with potential in-person engagement if based in Michigan.
