SY 2026-27 K-4th Grade Teacher, West Valley

Salary Range:

$50,000.00 - $59,500.00 USD annually.

 

K-4 Elementary teachers at ASU Prep West Valley play a central role in ensuring that all students achieve high levels of academic success, regardless of their background, race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status. Through the implementation of a rigorous curriculum, culturally responsive teaching practices, and data-informed instruction, teachers create classrooms where every student is supported and challenged to reach their full potential.

Teachers contribute to a structured and supportive school culture grounded in high expectations, strong relationships, and a shared commitment to student success. Working in close collaboration with school leadership and colleagues, teachers use student learning data and instructional best practices to continuously strengthen their practice and improve outcomes for all students and prepare students for college.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction following the curriculum scope and sequence utilizing well-structured lessons with clear objectives, active student engagement, regular checks for understanding and adhering to the pacing of the curriculum

Implement evidence-based instructional practices aligned with the school’s instructional model, including clear directions, structured routines, and strategies that actively engage all students in the learning process.

Build strong relationships with students while maintaining high expectations for academic effort, participation, and behavior.

Use positive framing and clear communication to reinforce expectations and cultivate a classroom culture that supports student engagement and confidence.

Monitor student learning through student work, daily and weekly assessments, adjusting instruction and providing targeted small-group support or reteaching when needed.

Engage and participate actively in coaching and feedback cycles designed to strengthen instructional practice, planning and support professional growth.

Contribute to a professional culture grounded in preparation, collaboration, and shared responsibility for student success.

Submit lesson plans and lesson internalization materials on time and implement feedback from coaching and observations to strengthen instruction.

Participate in structured data meetings to analyze student work, identify learning gaps, and plan reteach and intervention.

Partner with families through regular communication to support student growth and reinforce school expectations.

Supervises students during emergency drills, assemblies, recreation periods, lunch periods, play periods, and field trips to include resolving conflicts.

Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree required; Arizona teaching certification or the ability to obtain certification required.

Demonstrated commitment to rigorous instruction and high academic expectations for all students.

Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, school leadership, and families to support student success.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.

Proven written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational and planning skills

Effective problem solver and self-motivated learner

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Occasional travel may be required for site visits, meetings, trainings and/or conferences. Locations may vary and may require overnight stays.
