Mission Software Engineer

Powerus builds autonomous drone systems for defense applications. We're looking for a software engineer who has shipped code that runs on real hardware in real environments — someone who can own a problem from design through field deployment, debug issues when they surface operationally, and work closely with the people actually using the systems.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years in C++, Python, or Rust on Linux
  • Experience with data-heavy systems
  • Able to get up to speed quickly in complex, established codebases
  • U.S. citizen, clearance eligible

Bonus:

  • Autonomous or multi-agent systems in real deployments
  • ROS or MOOS-IvP
  • Safety-critical or flight software
  • Distributed networking and comms protocols
  • Military systems knowledge
