Retail Associate — District Candle Lab + Fawne

Our candle bar and jewelry studio invite guests to create something personal in a warm, polished, and highly curated environment. The Role

Retail Associates support the full guest experience across both the candle bar and jewelry studio. You guide customers through interactive making activities, maintain store readiness, assist with production needs, and contribute to a polished environment that reflects our brand standards. This role requires full cross-training in both candle-making and jewelry assembly.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

⭐ Customer Experience (Candle + Jewelry)

  • Welcome guests warmly and engage with them throughout their experience.
  • Guide customers through scent selection, candle pouring, jewelry chain/charms selection, and custom assembly.
  • Provide personalized styling, scent recommendations, and trend-guided pairing ideas.
  • Educate customers on fragrance notes, candle care, jewelry materials, and best practices.
  • Support private events, birthday groups, celebrations, workshops, and corporate experiences.
  • Build genuine connection with customers while maintaining a fun, creative atmosphere.
  • Upsell products, add-ons, seasonal collections, and premium upgrades.

 

⭐ Candle Bar Operations

  • Prepare guest stations with tools, wax, fragrance oils, wicks, vessels, and safety materials.
  • Assist multiple guests simultaneously while managing timing across pours.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, visually appealing candle bar throughout the day.
  • Process POS transactions and package finished candles neatly for pickup.
  • Follow all safety procedures for hot wax, fragrance handling, and equipment.

 

⭐ Jewelry Assembly + Charm Bar Operations

  • Assemble charm jewelry with precision using pliers and tools, ensuring secure placement every time.
  • Maintain organized charm trays, displays, chains, and tools.
  • Create a visually appealing, editorial-style charm bar that reflects the Fawne aesthetic.
  • Handle tools safely and follow proper plier/precision standards.
  • Package finished jewelry beautifully and process purchases through POS.

 

⭐ Production + Fulfillment (Candle Manufacturing)

  • Support production for non-retail candle orders, including:
    • Collaborations
    • Wholesale restocks
    • Corporate gifting
    • In-house manufacturing runs
  • Measure, mix, and pour wax accurately using exact recipes and batching standards.
  • Wick, label, and package candles according to brand or collaboration requirements.
  • Track inventory of vessels, fragrance oils, wicks, charms, chains, and supplies.
  • Assist with quality control checks and curing timelines.

 

⭐ Store Operations + Merchandising

  • Restock supplies and maintain back-of-house organization.
  • Assist with fragrance wall resets, charm bar resets, and seasonal merchandising refreshes.
  • Maintain a clean, polished, visually consistent store environment.
  • Tag new products, update displays, and support new product launches.
  • Prepare the store for weekend peaks, holidays, and special promotions.

 

⭐ Content Support (All Associates)

  • Capture simple, in-the-moment photos and short videos of:
    • Merchandising displays
    • New product
    • Candle-making setups
    • Jewelry styling
    • Event moments
  • Follow store guidance for lighting, angles, and brand aesthetic.
  • Upload content where directed for marketing and social use.
     

⭐ Off-Site Event Support (Only as needed)

  • Participate in pop-ups, private parties, collaborations, and community events when scheduled.
  • Arrive prepared with tools, charms, chains, signage, and supplies.
  • Set up and break down displays efficiently and professionally.
  • Manage high-volume guest flow while keeping assembly quality high.
  • Represent the brand with enthusiasm, polish, and strong communication.

     

SKILLS + ATTRIBUTES

  • Warm, outgoing personality with confidence engaging customers.
  • Strong fine-motor skills for jewelry assembly and detail work.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
  • Comfort using pliers and small tools (training provided).
  • Interest in craft, creativity, design, or hands-on making.
  • Strong eye for style, trends, and visual coordination.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to lift 20–30 lbs and stand for extended periods.
