POSITION: Nutrition Program Supervisor
PROGRAM: Nutrition Program (C1 and C2)

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt, Full-time
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Nutrition Program Supervisor oversees all aspects of the Senior Services Nutrition Program (C1 and C2) and ensures a high level of customer service and satisfaction among program participants. The Supervisor manages and coordinates all food service activities, including monthly reporting, food ordering, participant services, dining center operations, catering, quality improvement, and sanitation compliance. The Supervisor ensures that all meals provided meet the standards of the Older Americans Act.
This position reports directly to the Senior Services Program Director and works collaboratively with program staff and community partners to maintain effective and efficient program operations. The Supervisor provides direct oversight to the Home Delivery Coordinator and is responsible for fostering teamwork, accountability, and program compliance. This is an on-site position and is not eligible for remote work.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Nutrition Program Supervisor will be responsible for the following duties within the Nutrition Program (C1 and C2)
- Assures safe, high-quality, and efficient food handling and service for all customers.
- Utilizes organizational systems and processes to monitor program productivity standards, compliance, and service utilization.
- Oversee congregate sites and the home-delivered meals program to maintain quality service delivery and contract compliance.
- Ensures staff competency and professional development through training, orientation, and ongoing support, with particular focus on safety and customer service.
- Assists the Program Director in supervising staff assigned to the Nutrition Program.
- Compiles and maintains accurate statistics related to meal performance and ensures timely data entry into the Client Tracking System.
- Assists with preparation of program budgets, monitors grant compliance, and tracks program expenditures based on funding terms and conditions.
- Serves as a liaison with the Department of Aging to ensure program compliance and alignment with funding requirements.
- Develops, implements, and monitors staff training and development for the Nutrition Project.
- Represents MAOF in the community and actively supports facility and community engagement efforts.
- Fosters effective communication, teamwork, and collaboration across program staff and stakeholders.
- In collaboration with the City Nutritionist, coordinates nutrition education programs for staff and volunteers.
- Work regular schedule, Monday through Friday, assigned schedule
- Attends required meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in Nutritional Science, Food Service Management, Gerontology, or a related field.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience with increasing responsibility and an emphasis on management liability.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate options and make effective program decisions.
- Ability to represent MAOF skillfully and professionally.
- Knowledge of and ability to ensure compliance with the Older Americans Act Nutrition Program regulations.
- Proficiency in basic math, accurate data entry, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to supervise, motivate, and develop a diverse staff team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related computer applications.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing program needs and priorities.
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to effectively engage with diverse populations.
- Ability to work cooperatively, maintain diplomatic working relationships, and complete projects under tight deadlines with competing priorities.
- This position is required to drive. Must possess a valid California Driver’s License, personal vehicle, and appropriate automobile insurance; good driving record required.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE
Certified Food Protection Manager has taken or will take the ServSafe or equivalent class and has passed the exam within sixty (60) days of employment.
