Description: 

The Media Academy Instructor is responsible for providing high-quality instruction, supervision, and support to students. In this role, you will foster positive relationships with students, families, community members, and colleagues while maintaining professionalism. You will design and deliver engaging lessons aligned with district curriculum, using effective teaching strategies to support student learning and achievement. Strong classroom management skills are essential to creating a safe and productive learning environment.

 

Additionally, you will remain current in your field through ongoing professional growth and collaboration, communicate regularly with parents and staff, and contribute to building- and district-level meetings. Dependable attendance, supervisory responsibilities, and other assigned duties are also key components of this position.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Design and Delivery: Design and implement authentic, project-based learning experiences that are central to the Media Academy curriculum, emphasizing real-world digital media production practices.

Student Organization Management: Oversee and advise the Media Academy's student organization to facilitate additional career exploration, exposure, and practical media production experiences.

Technology Integration and Proficiency: Integrate current, professional media production technology and software.  Proficiency in the following software or similar programs are preferred :

Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, InDesign)

iMovie and Final Cut Pro

Various Podcast/audio editing software

Resource Management: Maintain, manage, and troubleshoot all classroom media production equipment (e.g., cameras, microphones, lighting, editing workstations, studio equipment) and software.

  • Extra duty stipend is provided for Academy duties during and outside of the duty day

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Education
  • Certification: Holds or is eligible for a Nebraska Teacher’s Certificate
  • Ideal candidates may have an endorsements in: Business & Marketing, Info Technology, English Language Arts or Journalism & Media Education; Other certificates will also be considered.
  • Experience: Successful completion of student teaching
