JOB STANDARDS
- Bachelor’s degree in a Human-Services related field;
- OR a combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the duties of the position.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
- Consistently and continually represents the agency in a positive and professional manner and provides appropriate internal and external customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Completes required visits to families’ homes.
- Completes referrals to law enforcement as necessary.
- Obtains and documents referral information received verbally or in writing.
- Provides transportation for families and children and arranges and supervises visitation between children and guardians.
- Assists caseworkers with determining safety of children.
- Provides parent education and training.
- Provides primary case management on cases for caseworkers in their absence or as assigned.
- Works with co-workers and supervisor to obtain least restrictive placement settings for children needing out of home placements and completes home studies.
- Documents all work related activities in the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS) within established timeframes and completes additional reports as required such as Case Plans, Semi-Annual Reviews, etc.
- Attends and testifies in court hearings.
- Assists with case aide duties, such as gathering medical and educational records, redacting documents, completing visitation attempts when assigned, and carrying a case load or completing an intake when assigned.
- Help with foster parent event planning and support.
- Completes APS work as assigned.
- Maintains required licensures and certification, if any.
