POSITION TITLE: Resident Advisor (RA)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Resident Advisor (RA) serves as a steady, supportive presence for mothers and their children at Hannah’s Home. This role provides overnight and weekend supervision, ensuring a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. The RA offers encouragement, mentorship, and guidance while responding to resident needs and maintaining the overall flow of the home during assigned shifts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide consistent supervision of residents and children during overnight and weekend shifts
  • Foster a safe, calm, and supportive environment within the home
  • Offer encouragement, mentorship, and emotional support to residents
  • Respond to resident needs, concerns, or emergencies in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Support adherence to house guidelines, routines, and expectations
  • Assist with basic childcare needs as necessary, including feeding, soothing, and supervision
  • Complete shift reports and communicate updates to staff as needed
  • Conduct periodic walkthroughs to ensure safety and accountability
  • Collaborate with staff to support resident growth and program goals
  • Model respectful communication, responsibility, and healthy decision-making

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Heart for service, women’s ministry, and supporting mothers and children
  • Prior experience in childcare, residential care, or related field preferred
  • Ability to remain calm, responsible, and attentive in a residential setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Dependable and able to work independently during overnight hours
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

Requirements:

  • Level 2 background check
  • Ability to work assigned overnight or weekend shifts

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Residential maternity home serving vulnerable, single pregnant women and their children
  • Overnight: 5:00 PM – 9:00 AM (one night per week)
  • Weekend: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 5:00 PM – 9:00 AM
  • Quiet overnight setting with intermittent activity based on resident needs
  • Mission-driven, faith-centered environment focused on stability, growth, and support
