HR Compliance Intern

This role will support the creation of Standard Operating Procedures and documented Ways of Working within the Global People Services (GPS) functions.  It will also support the launch of GPS’s document control for HR.  The Intern will work closely with team members in the Employee Experience tower in documenting their work instructions.

Job Summary:
Supports the execution of projects, programs and processes in the area of global and division specific HR compliance activities to meet regulatory requirements and routine internal/external audit needs. Provides support to HRBPs to ensure compliant activation of activity within HRBP assigned geographies and client groups.  

Responsibilities

 

Regional/Country Compliance:

  • Carries out timely and accurate execution of global or regional Compliance Project assignments. 
  • Supports the administrative tracking and follow-up of compliance activities. 
  • Uses templates to create Standard Operating Procedures for HR-related work in support of the GPS function.

Qualifications

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills to support communication across multiple locations and geographies.
  • Ability to follow process & procedure protocols and contribute ideas to drive continuous improvement.     
  • Ability to document and map processes in a regulatory environment using visual tools such as Power Point or Visio.
  • Strong PC skills required including but not limited to MS Office and Teams.      Willing and able to learn new programs, such as Visio and MyCooper HCM.
  • General awareness of HR regulatory requirements preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with others to complete the timely and accurate execution of assigned activities.  Takes appropriate action to research and solve problems while using sound judgement to escalate to others on issues. 
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills are important across organizational levels, cultures, regions, in-person and via virtual tools, orally and in writing.
  • Able to work under pressure, independently or as part of a team, in person and remotely across the business.
  • Demonstrates a can-do attitude with the ability to respond positively to change. 

 

Work Environment:

  • Fully onsite office working environment. 
  • Prolonged use of a PC, laptops, display screens.
  • Able to work additional hours as necessary to achieve required performance.
  • Requirement to work irregular hours to accommodate global partners across time zones may be required on occasion.

 

Experience:

  • Exposure to HR through coursework or prior internships and work experience.
  • Demonstrated success balancing multiple priorities and effectively following-up in an HR environment. 
  • Experience documenting procedures using Word, Visio or PowerPoint strongly preferred.

 

Education:

  • 2-3 years of coursework toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business administration, HR Management, or related field preferred.  High School diploma or equivalent with some post-diploma related coursework required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

 

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between ($18.50 and $27.25 per hour) and may include cost of living adjustments. The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.​
