We are seeking a Building Engineer, Engineer Intern (E.I.) to join our structural engineering team. The ideal candidate will assist in the design and analysis of building structures, applying engineering principles and software tools to develop efficient and code-compliant solutions. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with Senior Engineers, Design Professionals & Project Managers. Primary Responsibilities:
- Structural Design & Analysis: Perform structural calculations and analysis using governing codes, industry standards, and engineering best practices.
- Project Development: Assist in planning and executing engineering tasks, including evaluating, selecting, and adapting engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare and modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and reports to support design development.
- Problem-Solving & Innovation: Develop creative engineering solutions to complex structural challenges and research design alternatives.
- Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with Senior engineers, Designers & Project Managers to ensure project goals are met.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance: Review shop drawings, ensure adherence to applicable codes, and maintain compliance with company and industry standards.
Experience & Education:
- Education: Bachelor of science degree in civil or structural engineering
- Certification: Engineer Intern (E.I.) certification is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of structural design principles, materials, and construction methodologies.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer-assisted engineering design software to prepare engineering design documents, RISA 3D or equivalent finite element analysis software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in steel, concrete, timber, and masonry design.
- Familiarity with building codes such as IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, and NDS.
