Strategic Communications Intern

Strategic Communications Intern

Paid, temporary, internship position (no benefits or leave accrual) in the OneNet Communications Department for the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. Position is part-time (up to 19 hours per week for 12 months or 29 hours per week for 33 weeks, no more than 999 hours per year), no benefits or leave accrual. Position will pay $16.00 per hour.

Research and write feature stories, case studies, employee spotlights and subscriber spotlights for OneNet’s website and the Council on Information Technology website.
• Assist with maintaining websites utilizing WordPress.
• Develop content and new strategies for OneNet’s social media presence.
• Write and design promotional materials utilizing Adobe InDesign.
• Create and edit PowerPoint presentations for OneNet team members.
• Create content for customer email campaign utilizing Emma email service.
• Conduct surveys and prepare reports for submission.
• Take and edit photos for web and print materials.
• Assist with OneNet subscriber outreach initiatives and event planning.
• Other duties as assigned.

Junior or Senior level students enrolled in institutions of higher education and working toward completion of an undergraduate or graduate degree. Must be at least 18 years of age or older with a declared major in public relations, marketing, strategic communications, journalism, or other related field. Strong communication and writing skills with knowledge of AP style. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and WordPress. Knowledge of social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube). Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Self-motivation, positive attitude and willingness to learn. Work hours must be between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., up to 19 hours per week for 12 months or 29.99 hours per week for 33.31 weeks, no more than 999 hours per year. Appointed interns shall be required to submit to OneNet verification of current enrollment and an updated transcript at the end of each semester. An intern has no right or expectation of continued employment in any position with OneNet. OneNet, or the intern, may terminate the internship at any time with or without notice or cause.
